Notes

Here you will find explanatory notes to support the diary entries. The notes identify people mentioned in the diary, explain specialised terms such as sailing expressions, give background information and clarify geographical locations. They are arranged here by month as they appear in the diary.

The first notes will appear on 1 April 2009, to coincide with the first diary entry.
