Friday 7th August

Becalmed close to the town of Zante, a great number of English Schooners in the harbour.  The Resident, Colonel Parsons came off to see us & kindly brought some papers with him, the first we had seen since leaving Smyrna.  The sea breeze, which sprung up about twelve, carried us to the North End of Cephalonia (see map), where we were becalmed for the night, during which a steamer passed us.
